Practical Guide to Your Awakening: Part 3 of 4

How Free Will Really Works: The Truth About Your Life Plan and Soul Agreements

I was reflecting on my life leading up to my awakening and realized how most of it was structured, where every experience had a place in preparing me for the upcoming shift. All my traumas, hardships, and lessons happened for a reason, resulting in me being in the absolute perfect place in my life to experience this awakening.

As I was reflecting on it all, I began to wonder how much of my life was based on free will. If so much of it had to be “pre-ordained” or happen for a purpose, that didn’t leave much room for so-called “Free Will.” Naturally, when I asked the question, it opened the floodgates.

I have been called to share what I learned because Free Will is a widely referenced but commonly misinterpreted law that results in unnecessary frustrations and heartaches.

What is free will?

Free will is a universal law, and at its core, it means that beings are free to choose how they wish to experience the evolution of their soul.

Free will comes with a responsibility to follow it and consequences for failing to respect it. It also comes with protection against violation of another’s free will.

The Common Misconception:

The above is commonly known and fully accurate. However, a slight fundamental misconception distorts what it actually means.

This distortion is as follows: Free will is widely believed to be a conscious law used during incarnation.

The correct application: Free will is not a conscious law but one that is determined, applied, and enforced at the “soul level.”

Why does this cause problems?

In general, when we incarnate in the third density, the veil is placed over our “heads,” and we cannot see the big picture.

As we go through life, we experience hardships and situations that we think we would “never consciously agree” to, which creates a discrepancy.

“Why would I ever agree to this? Why can’t my life go the way I want? Why do I have to suffer like this?”

We then rebel against the universe's “unfairness” and adopt a victim mentality, wanting “out” of this reality because we feel that we are not getting what we want out of life.

If you’re curious, you can often see this confusion play out in real-time on places like Reddit’s Starseed forums — it’s a common phase many go through.

How does Free Will become established?

Before incarnation, we conduct a “meeting” where we plan our lives, make agreements/contracts, and chart our path. (It is more complex than this, but the “strategic planning session” is an effective analogy to grasp what occurs)

You can imagine reality in the 3rd density to be like a video game or movie, in the sense that there is a script, actors, and “scenes” that play out as you go through this incarnation. Everyone involved has a part to play, a role they agreed to, and agreed upon rules of “engagement” to determine how the “movie” will unfold.

Some have very defined roles, which will be more like acting in a movie.

For others, it is more like a video game that is loosely scripted with certain scenarios. They are allowed to play their way within the constraints (story) and restraints (rules) of the game.

Agreements/Contracts:

These are pre-determined and agreed-upon “scenarios” that all involved parties plan and coordinate from “above.” Often, these are more challenging scenarios that include trauma, loss, and hardship. However, these agreements also include happy/joyful experiences such as falling in love, the birth of children, and specific life interactions that leave a positive impact.

What does this mean for your hard experiences?

This means that the majority of your difficult experiences were predetermined. The person involved may have been fulfilling the terms of a contract, and although it may have involved hostile acts in the moment, their higher self has no hostility toward you. They were fulfilling those duties out of love for you and carrying sadness for the pain they caused.

Although this doesn’t remove the pain, I hope it provides some comfort knowing that there is nothing wrong with you – you have been, and continue to be, where you are supposed to be, and doing what you are supposed to do. This includes any wrongdoing you imposed on others.

How is Free Will “enforced”?

Many of us are told to ‘follow your heart’ — but what if your heart is tuned to a path your conscious mind doesn’t understand yet?

This is what it means to follow your higher self’s plan, even when it challenges your preferences.

Remember that free will is determined at a soul level, and as an incarnated being, you are following your higher self’s plan for this life.

This part can be tricky to accept, but I imagine you are very familiar with this:

·         Have you ever wanted something so badly, only to have every path to it feel blocked — no matter how hard you tried?

·         What about a time when you felt “called” to make a life choice that made no rational sense, but when you made it, your life improved immeasurably, against all odds?

·         Or a time when you were in a situation (relationship, career, or other path) and things became increasingly unbearable until you made a life change, and everything seemed to work smoothly afterward?

That is how your life plan is “enforced.”

Your higher self, guides, and other beings’ teams will work together to coordinate events from behind the scenes in subtle ways that have “real” effects on your reality.

You will receive signs, nudges, and even telepathic prompts (whether consciously aware or not) designed to help you stay the course.

Can I consciously change my life plan?

This is a complicated question, but in general, no. Understand that time in the third density works differently than in the higher dimensions. (I tried to explain time here, but I broke my brain a bit…)

An analogy that one of my guides shared with me is to imagine 3D like playing a game of checkers, and as you get into 4D and above, you start playing chess. It’s an entirely different game, and the rules and strategies for checkers do not apply to chess.

In checkers, you have a general strategy, but it is largely sequential and dependent on single actions. This is how time in 3D plays out. Action leads to reaction in an endless sequence.

In chess, you can make plays that guarantee a win, even if the other player still has moves to make. So although you take “turns” to play, the outcomes can be decided ahead of time, and certain moves will be “forced.” For example, you might want to move your knight, but if your king is in check, you are forced to respond to that instead.

So, considering our life plans, the strategy has been created, and the milestone moves have already been “made” ahead of time. There might be individual choices along the way that shift the tactical perspective, but the ending is inevitable/has already occurred in the higher dimensions.

It is possible to forego your life plan completely, but rather than being a liberating experience for your higher self, it is more viewed as a missed opportunity to achieve your goals for this incarnation. It is not a “failure” because we learn from every experience, but depending on one’s evolutionary goals, one may need to repeat the lessons in another incarnation. This is partly how karmic debt accumulates, as many of our experiences and contracts involve working with and releasing karma (for ourselves and others).

Here is the important part for Starseeds and Wanderers in particular:

This is why, in general, it is more “advanced” beings who incarnate in “mission-oriented” roles because they have demonstrated the maturity and discipline to adhere to their life plans. They are also provided “special access” to limited abilities that help keep them focused and on track.

Now, what does this mean for us in this community who have a role to play in the upcoming shift?

We are awakening to our origins and purpose for being here.

I am sharing this to provide additional context that will help you understand your roles in more detail so you can more effectively carry out your duties/missions.

Depending on one’s purpose for incarnation, one's “life plan” will vary in detail and include varying levels of conscious “free will.”

We speak in general terms so that you may find the patterns and elements that apply to your specific situation. We do not claim this applies to everyone, nor does it mean you have to put yourself in a “box” with these descriptions.

I will use the same terminology from my last posts here.

Wanderers have the least amount of conscious free will:

Wanderers have a challenging job because they are incarnating with a very specific mission and purpose. As a result, they have a meticulously crafted “life plan.” Their mission has well-defined parameters, and their growth involves a sequential development designed to activate at a precise moment in time, with very specific knowledge, resources, and preparations in place for that time.

Many wanderers have challenging lives because, once activated, they require a certain level of experience, credibility, and energetic and practical knowledge to support their missions.

This doesn’t mean that conscious free will is non-existent; it simply means that wanderers will face “consequences” if they do not follow their life plan. A relationship might become increasingly toxic until they break up. They might get fired from their jobs if they don’t quit when the signs tell them to. They might get sick, forcing them to make different life choices.

So, although they have some conscious free will, they are mostly required to stick to the plan and are guided by their “higher self/aspect” to ensure their lives follow that path. This is why many Wanderers feel as though they’ve been ‘living two lives’—one visible, one hidden—only to discover both were part of the same plan.

This part is important:

Wanderers often experience seemingly “exponential” growth after awakening. It is as if they were walking slowly and suddenly start sprinting (in relation to their awareness and abilities).

This is not a sudden jump in abilities; it is a “software unlock” that harnesses the full power of the hardware they have meticulously built and developed throughout their life.

Oftentimes, they are adept at abilities like telepathy, channeling, reading and transmuting other people’s emotions, and much more, without being consciously aware. In addition, they are “trained” in their dreams and kept in the dark about their origins to help them fit into their environments.

They are often “senior” beings and masters of their craft. When awakening happens at lightning speed, it isn’t because they are learning; they are simply remembering.

Starseeds have a little more free will, but it is again held at the higher self level:

Starseeds generally incarnate without a specific “mission" but might have goals and general tasks for their incarnation.

As a result, they have more leeway in how they choose to experience that incarnation. They might have milestones mapped out that their higher self coordinates achieving, but for anything unrelated, they are free to make whatever choices they want, as long as those don’t interfere with “contracts.”

This is a positive experience because they can find their way and support where they see fit. Many Starseeds experience hardship that helps them refine whatever higher skills, abilities, or attributes they wish to work on. For example, if they want to become more compassionate, they might choose to experience mental illness. If they want to become more patient, they might choose to have a disability. If they want to deepen their understanding of love, they might incarnate with a “soul mate.” And so on.

Many Starseeds feel conflict, depression, and anxiety because they feel betrayed by their “higher selves” for abandoning them to such a life, but that is missing the point of this incarnation: it isn’t to have a blissful life; it is for growth and to learn and refine their attributes.

Earthseeds generally have the most free will, with less restrictions:

Earthseeds have broader developmental goals, so they will often experience a wide array of different lives in different situations. Many times, they will have one or two “big lessons” with a scattering of smaller ones, and they are free to experience life fully in duality as they explore and learn how to express themselves.

Their higher selves will keep them on track to the milestones and contracts, but otherwise, they will largely be left to their own devices.

Upon the death of a vessel:

Earthseeds:

When a vessel “dies,” the veil is lifted for that being and they are welcomed back to oneness, and it is a moment of great joy, peace, and reunion. When the veil is lifted, they can see the bigger picture again and understand why their lives played out the way they did. The momentary return is not necessarily exposure to the “real” reality, but it is done in whatever setting is most fitting for that being.

After “death” (in general), a life review is conducted, during which the being is debriefed with their guides about how their lives played out, what they learned, what went well, what could be improved, etc.

After the review, the decision is jointly made on whether the aspect should spend time resting and recovering or reincarnating to experience different lessons for growth.

Starseeds and Wanderers:

This would be worthy of a dedicated post, but we want to contrast what occurs at a “soul” level for beings who originate from higher densities.

During incarnation on earth, many higher-dimensional beings have “split” their consciousness into fragments or aspects. So instead of one of our vessels reporting directly to our “higher self”, we might report to a “higher aspect” of our consciousness.

These “higher aspects” then report to their “higher selves” or put more accurately, their “oversoul” who is carrying out their full range of duties while their aspects are managing incarnations in “lower” densities.

The relevant point here is to understand that as beings evolve to higher levels, they have much broader capabilities and ways to interact in different densities.

In Closing:

Understanding how Free Will truly works helps us accept circumstances that are beyond our ability to control. Remember that you are exactly where you are supposed to be at this point in time and everything is unfolding as it was planned.

It is what is commonly referred to as having “faith” and belief in a higher purpose or meaning in life. When you can surrender to your higher self’s plan for your life, you will experience less friction, less conflict, and more peace.

Surrendering doesn’t mean your life will be easy, but it allows you to focus on the things you can control, and that is where sovereignty, agency and true growth are found.

Side note: As you can see, there is incredible depth behind our experiences and how the universe functions. There are different “rules” for different realities, and there is an infinite amount of information to consume.

This can feel overwhelming, so remember that information is best received and used in a “need-to-know” format.

In this incarnation, we don’t need to have access to everything. We simply need to have a conceptual understanding. When you require more detailed information, you will have “immediate access” via intuition/telepathy. I will do another post about this, but I want you to understand that you aren’t “behind” in your knowledge; you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Part 4 of this series will help alleviate fears and worries about the “shift” and share how you will insulate yourself and position yourself to be where you need to be.

In the meantime, here are some reflection questions for you to consider:

1.      When did you feel a deep urge to take an action that might have been “impractical” or not “logical” but turned out to be a positive change in your life? Who or what guided you to make that decision?

2.      When you began awakening, did you feel a deeper “knowing” or understanding about your life’s path? How did you reconcile this new perspective with the perspective you held at the time of your hardships?

3.      Was the guiding force behind your choices simply a “coincidence,” or could it have been unconscious telepathic communication with your guides? And if it was telepathy, what does that say about your current abilities? Are you really “just a novice,” or do you just not recognize how effective and capable you already are?

4.      How can you strengthen that intuitive connection and make it a more conscious process, rather than “running in the background”? (Hint: ask your intuition…)
